Palau-sator
The centre of Palau-sator, a typical village of Baix Empordà, is located at 6 kilometres from the village of Pals and 10 Km from Torroella de Montgrí. The French border is located at just 66 kilometres, Girona is 40 minutes away and the some of the best beaches of the Costa Brava are only 10 minutes away.
With less than 300 inhabitants, this town, of Roman origin, is located in the centre of the Empordà plain and has as a background the Gavarres Mountains – populated by beautiful and endless pine trees-. The village streets retain a medieval atmosphere, with the remains of medieval walls and the “De las Horas” tower, a must if you are entering the village, and and so-called for having a clock on the top of its façade. The Castle, the Monastery of San Pablo and the San Feliu church are also worthy of mention.
The centre of Palau-sator offers you a grocery store where you will find everything for your day-to-day needs, as well as fresh artisan bread made in the village itself. There is a bar and several restaurants, some of them with take-away service.
In Palau-sator you can also enjoy a totally rural environment of great nature and beauty, and a wide range of activities of all kinds: visit their curious Rural Museum, the mountain bike routes, do horseback riding, quads and buggies, golf and pitch & put, paintball, scuba diving, snorkelling, water skiing, hot air balloon rides, plane rides…
